A digital chest X-ray in three projections (anterior/posterior, lateral, and oblique views) is recommended for patients with unclear clinical symptoms. This non-invasive method examines the lungs, heart, and bones/joints in the chest area. Modern equipment has significantly reduced the radiation dose by tenfold while enhancing image clarity. Digital radiography provides clearer images compared to those obtained from older-generation equipment. Additionally, the digital X-ray images can be sent directly to the patient's email.

When is a Chest X-ray Recommended?:

  • Persistent cough lasting more than 2-3 weeks.
  • Cough with excessive sputum production.
  • Presence of blood in the sputum.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Persistent chest or back pain.
  • Prolonged fever.

What Can a Chest X-ray Reveal?:

  • Infectious lung diseases (pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, pleuritis, tuberculosis).
  • Bronchitis.
  • Tuberculosis.
  • Lung, bronchial, or tracheal tumors.
  • Inflammatory pleural diseases (pleuritis, pleural empyema).
  • Pulmonary embolism.
  • Pneumothorax (mechanical rupture of lung tissue).
  • Parasitic lung infections (echinococcosis).
  • Spinal diseases in the thoracic region.
  • Any patient can undergo a chest X-ray, although it is strictly prohibited for pregnant women unless under medical supervision.

Procedure Duration: 5-10 minutes.

Preparation: The procedure requires no special preparation. Before the X-ray, all metal objects, including jewelry and piercings, must be removed.
