Procedure: The X-ray is performed in two projections:
Anterior-Posterior (AP) View: This view allows assessment of the spinal canal width, vertebral alignment, and intervertebral disc condition.
Lateral View: This view visualizes the shape and height of the vertebrae, as well as the narrowing of intervertebral spaces.

Preparation:
Remove Metal Objects: Take off jewelry, glasses, and any other metal items that could interfere with the imaging.
Hair Management: Ensure hair does not obstruct the neck area.
Wear Comfortable Clothing: Prefer loose-fitting clothes or a hospital gown.
Inform About Pregnancy: Notify the healthcare provider if pregnant, as this may affect the decision to proceed with the X-ray.
 
Procedure Details: The X-ray is conducted in a specialized room where the patient may be asked to stand, sit, or lie down. The X-ray technician will position the equipment to capture images from both projections. The procedure is painless and quick, typically taking just a few minutes. During the exposure, the technician will leave the room but monitor from behind a protective screen.
